About the Artist
A multidisciplinary artist exploring drawing, making, storytelling, pattern and creative experimentation.

I’m René de Wet, a multidisciplinary artist, maker and creative explorer. My work moves between drawing, painting, mixed media, pattern, illustration, sculpture, functional objects and live art.
I’m drawn to experimenting with materials, ideas and processes rather than staying within one medium or style. Some work begins with careful observation, while other pieces grow from play, repetition, storytelling or simply asking, “What happens if I try this?”
For me, creativity is about curiosity, problem-solving and making things that invite people to look a little closer.
I have a saying "One-Day when I'm BIG...", and then I add whatever dream I have. Sure I'm already big, but my next One-Day when I'm BIG is to start a place where creatives can come and just enjoy themselves and other's creative processes. There will be a coffee shop in the middle, and then four different creative corners, Paint, Craft, Needle and Write areas. A large porch and a larger park, with trees and a garden, perfect for inspiration, classes, workshops, functions and team-building. It will be like a gym for creative people, somewhere to stretch those imaginations. Creative@4Corners
